The BRIARWOOD Experience
From a customer named Sam:
A few notes about Emmanuel and the rest of the process:
-Extremely good at communication, he never went more than 24 hours without replying to an email. Helped move the process along.
-The family has a ton of kids and farm animals so Boomer was heavily socialized by the time we picked him up. He was totally desensitized to kids playing with him, touching his face and feet, etc. and already had been slightly crate trained by Emmanuel since we needed to wait a few extra weeks to pick Boomer up due to travel. (I believe it was $500/week of boarding/house training, but definitely can say this was probably the best part of the process).
-Pick up day was as smooth as can be. Emmanuel greeted us at the door to his home with Boomer in his arms and immediately left us alone with him for 15 minutes so we could have uninterrupted time when we met him. I’ll definitely never forget hanging out with the little guy for the first time!
-They have been breeders of numerous types of dogs throughout the years, so even though bernedoodles themselves are relatively new, they’ve had years of experience working on calm, controllable temperaments. Boomer is naturally extremely calm and doesn’t bark, whine, etc. much because of where he comes from. Obviously we’ve put a ton of work into obedience training but even without all that work, I’m confident that he’d be a great dog anyways. If you have kids or eventually want to have kids, this couldn’t be more of an ideal dog.
Would definitely highly recommend Emmanuel and his puppies.

Customer Feedback on their BRIARWOOD Puppy
My family adopted a standard Sheepadoodle from you all in November of 2016. He is the light of our life! He was originally ‘green collar boy’ but his corner office name is “Stihl” we call him “Sheepy” too. I saw his baby picture is still on the website! He now lives in Kentucky and his favorite things to do are play at the dog park, go for rides in the car, watch squirrels and shake hands for treats! He is the best family dog we have ever had. Thank you for your careful attention to the needs of the dogs, the quality is apparent. That in mind, I am now looking for my own Sheepadoodle! I am interested in the micro size... I can’t imagine getting a dog from anywhere other than where Stihl came from.- Olivia
OK...so I had to let you know, my life is changed forever. My anxiety levels have gone down tremendously, knowing the Fenton will alert me when my blood sugars drop. He also keeps me cheered up and makes me laugh every day. He is loved by everyone, everywhere we go. JP
Kato is doing great. He is so much fun and we love him to pieces! Thank you, HF in TN
Doxie is was given a thumbs up by our vet and is coming right along with house breaking. Thank you for such a wonderful puppy. A N in Virginia
Jackson did great at seeing eye school and graduated with flying colors. I am so excited to have him as my 'eyes.' Thank you for giving him a wonderful start in life.
It has been wonderful getting to know you and your family. We love our puppy and hope to get another one from you in the future. B.R. in Maryland
Tilly has been a hit with our whole family. Even though 2 of our kids had thought at first that they could never love another dog after we lost Nala. Now that Tilly has been home a year, we can't imagine life without her. She was super easy to train and has a calm and laid back temperament. We are so thankful to have the joy of having a furry love bug back in our family. -k
I just wanted you to know that Mary did really well in her puppy class and passed with flying colors. My son is now wanting to do 4-H Agility with her. We so love our sweet girl! R.A. in New York

Pictures & Quotes from BRIARWOOD families
with their new pups
Wembley(above) is a 2 1/2 yr old 70lb Standard Sheepadoodle... His family said this about him: "He has grown into a beautiful dog and has a wonderful personality to match! We just adore him. I cannot tell you how many times we are stopped on the street with people asking what type of dog he is, etc...we always share that we got him from you all at BRIARWOOD." - L.C.
I bought Finn from you last August. He is THE BEST! We are crazy about him. Thank you sooooo much. He's the best dog I've ever met, and I adore him. I have a relative who would love to buy a sheepadoodles from the same parents if possible. ~Dr. Mark B.
We began this journey 6 months ago...and it was well worth the wait. After our family decided on the mini-bernedoodle breed, I scoured the internet, looking for a breeder on the east coast. I was fortunate to have found the Briarwood website, which had everything I needed to know about the breed, their moms, dads, and puppies:
Emmanuel was super responsive, always providing us with information and timing about next steps, answering any questions I had. Pick-up day was super exciting; a highlight of our family's life together. Emmanuel provided us with lots of helpful information to get us started on caring for our mini-Bernedoodle pup. Thank you Emmanuel and Briarwood! 9/26/19 |
I own a doggy daycare in Montana, June, one of your puppies attend my doggy daycare. She was the sweetest dog I had ever met, so I had to get my next puppy from your family. Well, Judson has been amazing. He is truly my right hand. He has such a patient demeanor, helps keep the peace amongst dominant dogs that attend my doggy daycare. Thank you for such an amazing dog. He has stolen my heart and for that I am truly grateful! -- Karen
"Sleepy" (below) Mini Bernedoodle Pup from Costa Rica & Morrocco
2nd Update 7/10/20: Sleepy now named "Leroy" graduated from Level 5 Obedience today! He is just amazing. He now has crowd-stable sit, down, down-at-distance, place and heel. He reliably comes and heels off leash.
1st Update (Summer 2019): Sleepy is AMAZING!! He just got his second round of vaccines and a vet check. He is 13 pounds and healthy as a horse. No worms, no issues. He is also the sweetest dog I have ever raised and I have raised a few. Today we took him to my son's special needs school and he visited the kids. He was sweet and calm and the kids loved him. He sat calmly while they petted him and even laid down in the lap of a little girl with Downs. She was over the moon.
His training is going very well. He can sit, stay and break. We're working on "down." I practice with him in the morning and the boys work obedience with him in the afternoons. He goes to work with me and I've included a picture of him hanging out calmly while I was on a conference call.
We are probably going to want to get a second mini berner around the same time next year--end of summer--after our 3 week vacation. Sleepy is going to a board-and-train program for therapy dogs while we're on our summer vacation. It is a 3 week program. I think after that, we'll be ready to bring a new puppy/friend home so he will have playmate.
Wanted to give you an update. Walker has now passed his 2nd level of agility. He is such a fast learner. People are always amazed at how well behaved he is. Thank you for such a wonderful dog! H.E in Georgia
"Cosmo", Standard Bernedoodle
Happy New Year! Last we saw you was exactly a year ago picking up Cosmo. 1/1
He's been absolutely amazing !! He's truly my best buds. Temperament is wonderful and training him was a breeze...smartest dog I've ever had !! I've been asked by a dog trainer, I previously used, to participate in attending disability facilities. He mentioned out of all the dogs he trained, Cosmo was the first that came into his mind. So many stories I could share about how Cosmo has brought so much joy to so many people that I've met who's either very ill or handicapped. Needless to say, we are starting a therapy dog certification program next month so he's "official". I'm a proud Mommy of my boy.
On another note,I've been considering a brother for Cosmo but would love to have another from Splash and Rocky. And would want to pursue the same activity of visiting hospitals etc. as a therapy dog. Do you anticipate a litter from Splash within the next year ? But I'm open to the following year as well. Wanted to reach out, say hello, thank you for my boy and wish your baby girl a happy first birthday !
Hopefully a puppy from Splash and Rocky will be in our future.
Happy New Year wishes!
--YB
Seamus is doing fantastic. We simply adore him. He is 3 years old and we are now ready to give Seamus a brother. We can't imagine getting a puppy from anyone else, so please let us know when you next litter is, so we can get on the waitlist. Thank you!! -J.B. in Virginia
I wanted to let you know how much we love our puppy. We named her Ling Ling because she looks like a little panda bear. : )
Ling Ling was basically house broken from Day #1. I am fortunate enough to have a work-from-home job, so by taking her out every couple of hours, she has yet to have any accidents in the house. When I take her out, she does her business quickly ... she knows that is what she is supposed to do.
She has the run of the house (with close supervision) for a while after she comes back in from being outside, and when we are not able to watch her closely she has graduated from her crate to being confined to the kitchen ... and we have had absolutely no problem or accidents. (If you don't consider her shreading paper from the reycle bin a problem!) Most importantly, the vet said she was parasite free and very healthy. She is affectionate and playful and smart. She already walks in a leash perfectly, and she will sit, come, and lie down on command. She seems to love us and we certainly love her. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful family member!
Blessings,
Georgia Riddle
I wanted to reach out to let you know how well Zuri (“Butterscotch”) is doing. As you know, they were 12 weeks this past Saturday, and our sweet girl is growing like a weed physically and mentally. She is so smart, already completing about 6-7 commands with no treats needed. She sleep 8 hours a night and tolerates 4 hours in her crate with no issue while we are at work. Accidents are almost absent. We are completely smitten with her. She has an amazing temperament and her personality is so laid back. She can get feisty when the moment suits her, but she usually settles down fairly easily and quickly into our sweet girl. We are crazy about her, and so grateful we were able to bring her into our home. Thank you for allowing us to adopt our Zuri Reu, we are beyond happy with our fluffy addition to our little family.
-Thank you, Samantha

Just wanted to let you blue collar blue (aka jones) is doing so well at the beach! He is such a well behaved boy- he loves playing fetch, and chasing leaves. Thanks for all of your hard work with him- it truly has paid off since he is such a good puppy. You will definitely be hearing from us soon for puppy number 2! -- T.H.
We absolutely love our sweet bernadoodle! He has such a great disposition and loves all people especially kids. That’s why I wanted to come back to you since you do such a great job socializing them. I was hoping to get a puppy before the weather gets too cold so if anyone backs out or you have anything else come up please let me know. -Missy
"Vernon", an F1b Micro Bernedoodle
F1b Micro Bernedoodle Vernon Update~ "He keeps getting cuter and cuter! We love him so much and so do my niece and nephew (pictured). He's great with them and other kids. He's still affectionate and spunky! Fully house trained and loves playing with other dogs in the park. He was 15 lbs a couple of weeks ago. We're still not sure how big he will get, but thinking 25 lbs max.
We will be back sometime in the future with my sister - she plans on getting a micro sometime within the next year or so - they adore him that much!
Thanks again!" --AG
Eleanor is now a trained Therapeutic Visitation Dog. Everyone that she meets falls in love with her. She is able to bring a smile to every patient she meets and helps take their mind off their current troubles! --C.T.

I just wanted to give you another update on our Jacques. He is so amazing. He follows us from room to room. He loves being outside chasing the leaves. And he LOVES taking rides in the car. He is such a joy! --TB
"Such a good boy... honestly he may be one of the "easiest" little pups i've had the pleasure of bringing into our (human, dog, cat)pack... thank you so much"
Just wanted to share with you...this is light green boy from your March 2010 litter! Super handsome and such a good, good bo!! Smart as a whip too! We are so, so in love with him!!!
Finn has been the perfect addition to our family. We are so glad we took the plunge into puppyhood. We survived and Finn has done wonderfully with crate training and house breaking. I am thrilled to say the puppy pads are gone. But seriously, my kids waited so long for a puppy and Finn has brought great happiness to all of us. Hope to see you soon! U. Family in NC
